The Ordinary Skin Care : Free shipping to Malaysia

The Ordinary Skin Care : Free shipping to Malaysia

I found out about The Ordinary from a famous makeup artist and YouTuber, Wayne Goss. It catches my attention right away, I love how the company practices transparency with their customers and not bullshitting (sorry for saying this, but I hate skin care companies who exaggerated and promises stuffs to their customers and the end results are the opposite as what they ‘promised’).

I  was just browsing random websites and found asos. Later I found out they actually sell The Ordinary skin care products. I splurged my money on Hermo (during their Anniversary Sale) and Zalora (for raya clothing). So I don’t have any more allowance to buy something else. That’s a life of a student. But I have to be grateful as not everyone can afford to buy a skin care products for themselves right. Okay, back to the story. Promised to myself, I would use the next month allowance to buy them :).

Nope, not true. That’s not happening. I bought them, yup, huh, these stuffs better works!

What I buy?

Screen Shot 2017-06-29 at 11.09.16 PM

The total is around RM 118. In my opinion, it is reasonably priced.

Price

Usually, serums cost more than RM80 per bottle, the cheapest I ever bought for 30 ml is around RM 90 (Andalou Naturals Enlighten Serum, Tumeric+Vit C). So, these are considered quite cheap.

The websites (These websites offered free international shipping, there are others, but these offered the same price as the company’s website ex: Victoriahealth.com)

  1. http://www.zestbeauty.com/the-ordinary-magnesium-ascorbyl-phosphate-10-30ml.
  2. htmlhttps://row.adorebeauty.com/the-ordinary.
  3. https://www.beautybay.com/l/theordinary/  (Free for orders above $30)

Note: I saw in Instagram that some people sell products from this line, but I feel that it is cheaper to buy directly from these online stores. But let me know if there is a cheaper option though! 🙂

Shipping

What a surprise! I received the item from Pos Laju, a week after the date of purchase. In my opinion, it is quite fast. Anyway, shipping to Malaysia is free! Yes! However, take note shipping is free if you purchase over a certain amount, in my case the total amount has to be over £20.

Promo code

I tried to find a promo code to use for asos but couldn’t find any. As for  zestbeauty, there’s  also no promo code, one day I put items in my cart, and didn’t check out, a few days later they sent me 5% promo code, then 10%. Wuuu don’t try to seduce me!

The package

The items are well packaged, there is a slight dent on the box, but the items are fine.

p/s: I already bought my second purchase for other products from this line through asos 🙂

REVIEW (My honest review after using The Ordinary over 6 months)

Update

13 Jan 2019:  Hermo is currently selling products from this brand. You can find it here-> https://www.hermo.my/brand/765-theordinary/?ucf=search

If you don’t mind paying more then you can purchase the products in Hermo. But if you want cheaper option and don’t mind waiting (like me, ehem), then you can find any online shopping websites from overseas that offer international shipping.

14 Jan 2019: You can find The Ordinary products literally everywhere nowadays. Shopee, Lazada, Instagram etc

25 March 2019: Upon checking on the website, ASOS no longer shipped The Ordinary products to Malaysia. Sorry I didn’t realize because I haven’t bought any The Ordinary products from ASOS for quite some time.

“This product does not ship to Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Indonesia, Iceland, New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey, Malaysia and Ukraine”

  1. Hi, I’m curious, did you ever get any warning letter from KKM regarding on any skincare purchase that you made from other countries? From your previous post seems that you’ve bought a tonne.
BTW good post on The Ordinary.

    1. Hi, sorry for the late reply, yeah I have been trying quite a number of their products. To be honest, this is one of the brand where you really need to try it yourself because the one who people rave about and have very good reviews don’t really works well with my skin, while the one that people hate works well, I guess it works differently with asian skin. Thank you for the suggestion 🙂 yeah, I was trying to put together the reviews 🙂

    1. Hii 😊 glad to meet someone who enjoy using it as I do ❤️. Initially I mix alpha arbutin, niacinamide, but I find that adding magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, make my skin look fresher and less dull.

  5. Hi Nor,
    Thank you for your post!!
I search the info of The ordinary and found your post, I have some questions and hope you can spend a little time to answer, thankss a lot!!

    1. few years ago I bought some item from ASOS using standard delivery(free shipping), but the item lost when it reach Malaysia, and I can’t check the shipping because POS Malaysia won’t check for un register mail. So it’s ASOS using register mail(with tracking number) to ship their item now? or you paid more for the tracking mail?

    2. I also found some website, like shopee and ladaza(just as you said), is selling The ordinary product, have you purchase from them ever? I am worry they are selling fake item….

    Thanks beauty!!

    1. Hi there,
      1. Last year when I bought from Asos, I can’t track when the package have arrived. It will only showed up to “Reach the Destination Country”, so I would never be able to check when exactly the date the package would arrive. Yes, they used Poslaju.
I just bought some stuffs from Asos recently, early this month, they have improved the tracking system. Now, I can track the package until it reached the destination, so I would know if the package is currently “Out for Delivery”. The courier they used is Aramex. And it’s pretty quick also, it takes only around a week. The shipping fee is still the same, free for orders above £20.
      2. As for shopee and lazada, I would advise to be extra careful. Buy only from trusted sellers. I prefer shopee over lazada. I suggest only buy from “Preferred Seller” (look for “100% Authentic” sign) or from the “Shopee Mall” (official shops guarantee 100% authentic, because a lot of brands now started to sell their products in online shopping platforms). The reason I prefer to buy from Shopee because if you didn’t receive the item before or by the estimated delivery date or the item is not authentic, you can issue a refund. And from my experience I received the refund.
I have bought some stuffs from Lazada, I didn’t receive the item, but there is no system that allows us to ask for refund if any issues arise.

      Hope that helps,
      Hidayah

    1. Hiiiii, sorry haven’t buy the Ordinary products for quite some time from ASOS. I do know some products are not available for shipping to some countries especially skin care and makeup products.

  6. Omg. I was so shocked when I know the no longer ship TO to Malaysia. I even sent an email to them asking the reason. lol.

Still frustated that I haven’t found any online retailer (at least as convinienced as asos) that ship TO to Malaysia. By the way, last time I bought, their free shipping at min. £40 purchase :/

Do you still use TO and have you try other online retailer outside Malaysia to purchase TO?

  7. Im looking for some the ordinary products, and your guide helps. Btw, currently, how do you buy the ordinary products? Any websites to recommend? Thank you 🙂

    1. Hi there 🙂 I’m sorry for the late reply 🙏. You can buy them online. There are a few options. The best option is ASOS. The price is cheaper. However, the free delivery only for purchase over £45. Sometimes they have discount codes for example during Raya (last year they offer discount codes, pretty sure this year they would have it too). Last time I bought my stuffs, it took around 2 weeks to arrive since the items are shipped from UK. But I don’t mind waiting since the genuinity of the product is guaranteed. However, some products might be sold out.
Second option, Lookfantastic.sg. Free delivery for purchase over SGD$20. Next, Zalora. But they only have a few products only. The last option is Shopee. I would only use this if I couldn’t find the items elsewhere. However you might want to read the reviews and check the description, make sure to buy from legit seller. Hope this helps you. 🙂

Take care and stay safe ☺️
